From the creative team behind the summer’s site-specific sell-out Othello (Time Out Critics’ Choice; nominated for four Off West End Awards including Best Director) came an extraordinary reimagining of Shakespeare’s tale of jealousy, devastation and miraculous redemption as the ultimate family Christmas show. Working with the support of The Old Vic Tunnels, THE WINTER’S TALE was a promenade across the sprawling, hidden forest of Camley Street Natural Park, beside Kings Cross St Pancras and Regent’s Canal. Audiences were led from a reception at Leontes’ country estate, to the public circus of Hermione’s trial, to the bonfires of Bohemia – choreographed as a rowdy gypsy festival by Lucy Cullingford – before a finale performed over the reserve’s lake. Condensed to one hour of text, with mulled wine and fires throughout.
